Local Employment
Asanko is dedicated to promoting socio-economic development in our catchment communities, with a focus on creating sustainable employment opportunities. The Social Responsibility Forum (SRF) Local Employment Agreement was established to ensure that hiring from these communities remains a priority and is carried out in a transparent and structured way. The key principles of this agreement are outlined below.
General Principles
The agreement defines three categories of employment that apply to both Asanko and its business partners, with all applicants evaluated fairly, regardless of ethnicity or race.
- Skilled Labour: The Company prioritises applicants who meet the required qualifications and experience. If multiple candidates have comparable skills, preference is given to validated individuals from the local communities.
- Semi-Skilled and Unskilled Labour: Preference is given to validated citizens of host communities for these roles. Candidates must still meet the internal criteria established by the Company for semi-skilled and unskilled positions. Employment will be distributed fairly across host communities based on the agreed criteria in the local employment agreement.
- The Company is also committed to training local community members and considering them for employment opportunities, as they become available.
False Recruitment
We urge all potential candidates to be vigilant and aware of fraudulent recruitment offers from individuals or entities falsely claiming to represent Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd or their officials. These deceptive practices may involve suspicious job postings or unsolicited emails that request extensive personal information.
Asanko, along with its authorized representatives, will never request payment of any kind from candidates during the recruitment process, whether for interviews or job offers.
To ensure that you are engaging with genuine recruitment efforts, we strongly recommend verifying current job openings match those posted to this website, or by contacting us directly at applicants@asanko.com. Your safety and the integrity of your personal information are of paramount importance to us.
