Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd (Asanko), operates the Asanko Gold Mine located in the Ashanti region of Ghana, West Africa. Its parent company, Galiano Gold Inc., is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Together, they are committed to the highest standards of environmental management, social responsibility, and the health and safety of its employees and neighbouring communities.
The Asanko Gold Mine holds the largest land package on the highly prospective and underexplored Asankrangwa Belt, with the team focused on new discoveries through regional and near mine exploration programs. Currently, Asanko consists of four main open-pit deposits: Abore, Nkran, Esaase and Miradani North, along with multiple satellite deposits and a 5.8 Mt per annum carbon-in-leach processing plant. Approximately 2,200 people are employed at the mine. 99% of the total workforce are Ghanaians, of which ~45% are from our local communities.
